Matthew Asher Newman, age 6 months, of Salem, AR died Sunday, May 1st, 2011. Survivors include his parents, Michael Todd and Dana Lynn Downs Newman, seven sisters, Madeline, Katherine, Annie Grace, Emmalie, Tessa, Sophie, Ella; four brothers, John, Samuel, William Jason Downs and wife Holly of College Station, TX, and Cody S. Scrivener and wife Marie of Salem; nieces and nephews, Michael Downs, Cheyenne Downs, and Peyton Downs, grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Carrol Newman of Salem, AR., along with numerous nieces and nephews.

We have all been sick with strep (myself included) and so we weren't terribly concerned when I found some lymph nodes in Tessa's neck swollen. I guess I was concerned because she hasen't had a sore throat,fever or any illness...so I called St.Jude's Hosp who said to have her pedi work her up. So, off to see our favorite Dr in the world, Dr Moody. So far all of tests are normal, the rest will come back tomarrow am but I called St Jude's back and because of her past history they want to see her tomarrow. I am sure that this is nothing but her cancer was so fast growing that I just want to cover all bases. So,if you are a praying person include Tessa...

Cinnamon Roll Throw Down....

Well, Katie and Madeline have wanted Mike and I to have a cinnamon roll challenge so we did it this a.m. Brother , we have to many sweets around here now.
This is a photo of both of them together.
Here is a picture of Katie holding up my cinnamon rolls, the apron is an antique child's apron that a good friend of mine in Texas gave me. Thanks Donna for all of the cute apron's. Who would of thought that I would have daughter's to wear them. The result's are in !! Mine won on points and Dad's won of taste !! How the heck does that happen??? Well, Mike's were better...

Good News!!

Well Tessa had her eye exam and she continues to be clear of tumors ! YAY...she was a big girl and let Dr.Wilson look in her eyes without sedation this time...so no more putting her out !
She has a bone scan on Thursday and on Friday she has her CAT scan and then we are home !!

A week at St.Judes...

Well I leave in the morning for St Judes with Tessa. I am going to try to beat the snow that might come. We had to cancel her appt. due to snow so it is imperative that we make this one. They will be doing all her scans and her eye exam. She also has alot of out side appts, so we will be pretty busy.If you are a praying person please say one for her and all of the other children with cancer..
I will post more later when we know her results.

I have never seen a dog luv snow like GiGi. It has been tough to keep the house dry between her and the kids !

This is the tree that the kids just had to have ! I was going to buy one but they wanted to go and cut on here on the farm...I have learned finally that I just need to let things go, if the kids want it ....let them have it !
