Noodling......

I decided that I would try my hand at home-made noodles because I have memories of my Dad making them and they were delicious! He made a mess but it was worth it...Well, I doubled the recipe and it still wasen't enough for all of these hungry mouths! All it takes is flour, egg, salt and a little milk but next time I will roll them out thinner and cut them into more of a narrow noodle. They were good and the kids loved them. I served them with Boiled chicken.
If anyone wants the recipe just let me know!
Until next time.....

Aren't memories funny? I remember noodle-making, too, but I remember it being Mom. (My memory is notoriously bad - just ask Jeannie) I DO remember noodles drying everywhere in the kitchen, though! Kathy

And I thought NOODLING in Arkansas had to do with catfish (LOL)... I've never made noodles from scratch (by hand I should say) - I guess I should try it - they look good!

I was wondering if anyone really knew what "noodling" was LOL, that is just to gross for me to catch fish with my bare hands....come on now....
Yes, these are really good and really easy

As many mouths to feed as you have you should look at the pasta maker attachment for your Kitchen Aid Mixer. Of course it's easier to open a box. I do remember Dad making all sorts of strange things - messy things - and then Mom had to clean up the mess!

Hi Dana, I make this very noodle. We have it with beef chips browned (like for stew), then add 2 pk of brown gravy mix and water. Then the noodles, yum. Our whole family loves it, very good on a winter night. Take care & God bless, Lisa Lewis

Me too!! Funny, I made Chicken and Dumplings the other day and I was telling Alan about the Noodles and I would love to have some. And how they hung around all over the kitchen to dry! But not enough to make them!! I remember Daddy making them and that it was Grandma Downs recipe. Maybe they both made them. Seams that I remember Grandma making them too. Could be before you young ones were born!!
